Request a Temporary Water Meter Account

Below are steps to complete an application for a temporary water meter account.

Examples that you may need one for: New construction, property remodeling, pressure washing the exterior of the property, etc.

Before clicking the application link below, which will take you to the application form in another page, please read all the instructions carefully, so that you don't miss a step and delay the account opening process. Below you will find as list of all required documents, as well as the steps for submitting the application.

Application Instructions

Required documents:

  • Completed Application for Service.
  • Signed Acknowledgment of Release of Liability “Waiver."
  • Driver’s license for primary account holder. (scan or photocopy).
  • Deposit: $1,000.00 — check or money order (no fee).
  • If paying with a credit card a 3.10% processing fee will apply.
  • Sunbiz: authorized signor must appear on Sunbiz; if not, provide LOA.

Step 3.Attach documents

Sunbiz/LOA as required.

Step 4.Submit application

Submit application, waiver, and required documents to: SLWSD Customer Service

Step 5.Pay the deposit

After you submit the application and receive confirmation from our Customer Service Team stating that your account has been established you may pay your deposit according to one of the payment methods in the above required documents section.

Application Documents & Files Tips

  • Scan or photograph documents so text is clear and readable.
  • Preferred upload formats: PDF, JPG, PNG.
  • Name files clearly (e.g., Smith_Deed.pdf, Smith_license.jpg, Jones_Lease.pdf).
  • If you have a POA, Estate paperwork, or LOA, include the full legal document (not a summary).

Deposits & Processing

Deposits and Fees:

  • Deposits and fees can be paid in person or via mail by.
  • Checks or Money Orders (no processing fees).
  • Credit Card in person (3.10% processing fee will be added).

Processing:
If payment for the deposit is returned a fee of $25.00 will be billed to the account and services may be disconnected if payment is not received.
